Mt. Hood Skibowl is opening the Tube Hill and Adventure Park!
Through state of the art snow making equipment and taking advantage of the cold temperatures of late, we have been able to make over five feet of snow on our snow tube hill! Three big fan snow guns have been running around the clock for the past few days and the results are amazing. The groomers are out shaping the hill during the day, getting ready for the grand opening of the 2013-14 winter season on Thanksgiving Day!
The Snow Tube and Adventure Park at Skibowl East will be open Thanksgiving Day from 10:00am to 4:00pm, Friday and Saturday 10:00am to 5:00pm, and Sunday 10:00am to 4:00pm. The opening includes the tube hill conveyor lift, indoor play structure, 800 foot long zipline and the the Multorpor Lodge featuring a full service café and the 70 Meter Bar and Grill.
Cosmic Tubing kicks off the season this coming Friday and Saturday from 6:00pm to 11:00pm. The huge hit of last winter, Cosmic Tubing is back and better than ever with more lights, lasers, DJ nights and fireworks every third Saturday starting in December.
100 new, neon, four person tubes have been added to the tubing fleet, increasing hill capacity by a third. A second adventure lane is also being added to the hill.
Celebrate this New Year’s Eve with the best party on the mountain! Skibowl will celebrate 26 years of its legendary midnight fireworks extravaganza with a host of events; including skiing-riding until 2:00am, fireworks at Skibowl West and East, Cosmic Tubing until midnight, a torchlight parade down the Lower Bowl, live DJ’s, multiple beer gardens and much more.
Keep checking back to the web page for updates on the operating schedule and the opening of the ski season. We are blowing lots of snow at the bottom of the Lower Bowl chair so that all we need is a little more further up the hill and we will be good to go. Stay tuned!
