Snow Beach Festival - March 22
The highlight of the day is the legendary 12th annual Pond Skimming Contest where contestants attempt to skim across a freezing, cold pond. Clearing the icy water is not a requirement to win, and dramatic landings help score big points. Prizes will be awarded for Best Costume, Best Style/Trick, Best Attitude/Effort and Best Overall Crash/Splash. There is also a hot dog and hot wing eating contest, fireworks, a live DJ and the Goggle Tan rail jam! Get a taste of your favorite beer at the "Suds on the Slopes" beer garden featuring six different breweries.
Red Bull Schlittentag - March 29
Schlittentag is the German word for "sledding day." Put simply, it translates as "daredevils willing to propel themselves down a snow-covered hill and over a jump on a sled they built themselves." This will be the most winter fun you've had sitting down. Three person teams will compete to be the fastest sledders this side of the Alps. One will be the pilot and the two others will help give their sled the push it needs to win the race and the fame and fortune that follows. It's all happening on March 29th at Mt. Hood Skibowl. King and Queen of the Mountain (Min. $1000 Cash Prizes) - April 5
Minimum $1000 cash prize for each winner of this all-encompassing competition featuring extreme skiing, speed trap, giant slalom, rails, jumps and terrain park jibs in a single 1,500 vertical feet course, starting at the Upper Bowl and ending in the base area at Skibowl. Competitors will earn style points in four areas that will be added to their miles-per- hour score in the speed trap, resulting in the overall male and female winner and bragging rights as King and Queen of the Mountain!
