Snow Returns to Skibowl The Next Two Days!
It's been almost 3 weeks since we've seen anything other than flurries on the mountain. Sure, the 50 degree sunshine is nice, but that's what spring, summer, and fall are for! The good news is that over the next 7-10 days we'll be in the coolest weather patten we've seen since mid December up on the slopes. Everything is going to stay well frozen.
The Details:
The cooler air is arriving Wednesday evening and should drop the snow level down to around 2,000' by Thursday at sunrise. When the snow level gets that low, we see the moisture content of the snow higher up drop quite a bit. That equals nice dry powder. Several bands of snow showers move through the Cascades from Wednesday night to Friday midday, then we dry out.
How much?
- 6-9" is likely at Skibowl Base Area & Gov't Camp by Friday afternoon, most of it before sunrise Friday
- 8-12" on the Upper Bowl by Friday afternoon too
That will be it for snow for awhile as we return to a mainly dry pattern through at least the middle of next week. We may see some snow return around the 6th or 7th (late next week).
